Celtic showcase ready for consumption
Malcolm Middleton
Its been brought to the Glasswerk editorial teams attention that the 9th Celtic Connections festival has opened its doors for public viewing, now ready to provide another vehicle for some of the most curious, distinctive and attention-grabbing musicians from around the globe.

As is now standard for Celtic Connections, eclecticism is high on the agenda. The gathering will bring together another mix of folk, roots, world, traditional, indie, bluegrass, jazz and classical musicians, who will play at around 300 events over the next 18 days, taking place in 20 venues across Glasgow.

Celtic Connections’ diverse programme celebrates the influence of Celtic music on cultures around the globe, with acts from as far afield as Australia, Greenland, Mexico, Mali, Pakistan, Serbia, Palestine, Senegal, Cuba, as well as across Europe, the USA and Canada all visiting Glasgow to take part in proceedings.

Programme highlights include Laura Veirs, Bruce Hornsby and guests, Jack Bruce (Cream) with Lau, Treacherous Orchestra, a Woody Guthrie Centennial, FOUND, Admiral Fallow and Floating Palace featuring KT Tunstall.

Elsewhere, Glasswerk (Author) favorite Malcolm Middleton will play as part of a night curated by Chemikal Underground. The label will be inviting along a few of their pals including Rick Redbeard (The Phantom Band), FOUND and ofcourse, former Arab Strap string puller ‘Maalky’.
